Parenting & whales go hand-in-hand?

When he says jump, killer whales jump. Now, he and fellow authors are using the same behavior techniques to teach parents how to keep the peace. The book is called “Whale Done Parenting: How To Make Parenting a Positive Experience For You and Your Kids.” It is co-authored by Chuck Tompkins, Curator of Zoological Operations for Busch Entertainment, home of SeaWorld and the world famous Shamu!

Unexpected sighting in New York Harbor

The Coast Guard is desperately trying to redirect a wayward Humpback whale which is swimming up towards the Hudson River. This is not typical for Humpback whales. They are an endangered species. The Coast Guard is establishing a safety zone.

This particular whale is about 20 feet long, but Humpbacks can grow to about 52 feet long and weigh about 30-50 tons. At this time, the whale does not seem to be in distress.

Whale dies in latest Cape stranding

A 35-foot finback whale has died in the latest marine mammal stranding on Cape Cod. The beached whale was discovered yesterday near Rock Harbor.
